How Much Is That Shoggoth In The Window?.. by Caberwood How Much Is That Shoggoth In The Window?.. by Caberwood
I felt I had to do this piece after stumbling across the intriguingly named "Pets & Things" store which seemed to have gone out of buisness.
I wonder why... :)

I stumbled upon this picture because someone has put it up on tumblr (you are credited!)
  wilburwhateley.tumblr.com/post…

It damn near made me drop my coffee. Don't get me wrong, it is a wonderful photoshop full of detail and nicely put together, but as a fan of all things lovecraftian, I am somewhat desensitized to creatures with an abundance of teeth and way too many eyes.
But the freaky thing is that it is a petshop on the corner of where I stay in Edinburgh!
I tell you, a shock to the system like that seems to work better than coffee for waking one up in the morning!

My guess is that they had issues with the Things.

Looks great.

Would make a cool story.
Some construction folks are hired to turn the store into a mobile store and things go south.

Ask an Elder Thing.
Wait a minute! Elder THING and they were the shoggoth's masters...
So..yes..a pet..definetly a pet.

Though I don't think this arrangement worked out so well for the previous owners..

Let's not kid ourselves. Shoggoths were not pets to the Elder Things; they were slaves. I'm sure they are perfectly nice when treated correctly.

Ha Ha! True. Perhaps if they were walked (slithered?) daily and allowed to play with the odd ball, things might have turned out differently..

You can go first with the old "lets meet a shoggoth and have a civilised chat" lark though.I'll man the snowmobile.

Kind of you to offer, but I think the remaining Shoggoths of the world are absolutely insane after epochs of isolation and hatred. Probably too far gone, at this point. We might need to whip up a new batch that aren't so... world weary.

This is actually another mixed media example.I  physically sculpted the shoggoth with chicken wire and car-body filler, fine tuned it,painted it,then composited it into the pet shop.
