I don't know how you did it, but this guy looks so incredibly real that at first I thought it was a model rather than a C-G image! In fact, it actually looks alive! Great job, "Caberwood!"

I can't tell you how much it pleases me that somone has actually used the 'octopus-like' descriptor of the original book instead of making some kind of quasi-humanoid alien.

Incredible and gross. I'm a big fan of the book too (I thought the way the Martians looked in the Spielberg film was really disappointing). Wasthis based on Wells' earlier doodles? Before he added the 'fleshy' beak? You've nailed the wet leather effect too.
